I’ve been KO’d by Tyson Fury, David Haye and Dillian Whyte, but none of them punch harder than ‘Welsh Beef’ Darren Morgan says Derek Chisora – THE INFORMANTI

Derek Chisora has been a contender on the heavyweight scene for a long time and shared the ring with many of boxing’s best over the last two decades.

Since making his debut in 2007, ‘Del Boy’ has been knocked out by a stunning left hook from Dillian Whyte, stopped twice by Tyson Fury and tasted the infamous ‘Hayemakers’ when getting KO’d by David Haye in their grudge match.

Chisora even went the distance with ‘Dr Ironfist’ himself, Vitali Klitschko, and made it to the final bell twice against another former world champion in Joseph Parker.

None of these heavyweight giants, though, hold the mantle of being the hardest puncher he has ever faced and, when asked by talkSPORT who it was, he simply replied, “the Welsh Beef”.

Chisora was referring to the relatively unknown Darren Morgan.

In his third professional fight, in October 2007, he came up against Morgan in a four round fight at York Hall, winning every one to emerge victorious on points.

‘Del Boy’ was never knocked down by Morgan but he insisted he was the hardest puncher he had ever come up against.

Morgan is a 6ft 1in heavyweight from Swansea and put together a record of 8-5, with 6 KO’s, before retiring in 2014 having never been stopped in the ring.

Chisora has not fought since his trilogy bout with Fury in December last year when he failed in his attempts to strip ‘The Gypsy King’ of his WBC heavyweight world title.

Instead, Chisora has taken on some promotional duties, as he was involved in the recent clash between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.

‘Del Boy’ took full advantage of the opportunity, rubbing shoulders with celebrities such as Mike Tyson and Cristiano Ronaldo throughout fight week.

As for his next fight, it does not seem Chisora is currently in talks to arrange a bout, but he has insisted that he is not ready to retire from professional boxing just yet.
