Cristian Romero is earning himself an unwanted reputation as he picked up another red card in Tottenham’s Champions League exit.
The 24-year-old was sent off after receiving two yellow cards, as Spurs were dumped out of Europe’s elite competition by AC Milan.

Romero was sent off for Spurs against AC Milan on Wednesday night
Romero’s stupidity on 78 minutes signalled the end of his side’s chances of getting back into the tie and reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
The Argentinian star produced a wild lunge on Milan captain Theo Hernandez, as Spurs’ night went from bad to worse.
Worryingly for Tottenham fans, Romero is averaging a card once every 2.5 games.
To put that into context, the most carded player in LaLiga and Champions League history, Sergio Ramos, was only averaging one every 2.9 outings.
Romero was previously given his marching orders earlier on in the campaign, when Spurs secured a 1-0 win over Manchester City.
He was shown a second yellow card for dangling a leg and taking down Jack Grealish, having already been booked in the first half for a foul on Erling Haaland.

Though, following his horrendous tackle in the lacklustre defeat to AC Milan, it left many seething, no more so than Spurs legend Jamie O’Hara.
“He’s a liability though, he’s a liability,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.
“As much as we love him – he’s got passion, he’s got heart, I get that.
“But you look at the top defenders, they don’t look like they are going get sent off every week. Every time! He can’t tackle!”
The north Londoners were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Nottingham Forest and most recently the FA Cup by Sheffield United.
Now dumped out of the Champions League, Antonio Conte’s side have just the league to now focus on, as they aim to finish in the top four.
