Honeysuckle signed off her career with a fourth-straight Cheltenham success as she and Rachael Blackmore won the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle.
The nine-year-old, who is trained by Henry De Bromhead, previously won the race in 2019 before winning the Unibet Champion Hurdle in both 2021 and 2022.

It was her fourth-straight Cheltenham victory, her last before she bows out
Defeats in the Hatton’s Grace and the Irish Champion Hurdle earlier this season suggested that she was a horse on the decline, however the 9/4 favourite pulled out all of the stops to beat long-time leader Love Envoi to win by a length and a half.
In what was her final race, Honeysuckle’s victory was extra poignant amid the tragic passing of De Bromhead’s son, Jack, who passed away in September at the age of just 13.
As a result, Thursday will see a race named the ‘Jack De Bromhead Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle’, in a touching tribute.
Speaking to ITV after the race on Tuesday, jockey Blackmore dedicated the victory to Jack.
Speaking to ITV Racing, Blackmore said: “We all wish that a very special kid could be here today but he’s watching down on us.
“It’s happiness, she’s unbelievable.
