Alan Brazil has picked a great chance in the Champion Chase, the feature race for day two at Cheltenham.

The day is kicked off with the Ballymore where Hermes Allen is the favourite, before the Brown Advisory fronted by Gerri Colombe and Sir Gerhard, before the showpiece of the day, the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Edwardstone is trained by Alan King and is a real star of the yard, especially since winning the Grade 1 Tingle Creek Chase.

He’s currently vying for favouritism in the betting with last year’s winner Energumene.

He’s versatile ground-wise too, meaning if there’s rain or just a bit he will run well regardless.

Edwardstone was the 5/2 favourite in last year’s Arkle and he rewarded backers well winning by over four lengths to Gabynako with Blue Lord back in third.

Engergumene was a 4/9 favourite in the Clarence House Chase in January but could only come third when blundering over the last fence, but still looked beaten from there suggesting Edwardstone can really plug on to win when turning into the straight.
